It’s not often that a 1981 film gets a new Sixth Scale figure announced, much less two new figures from two different companies! Here we are, though, with both Present Toys and Premier Toys announcing preorders for their individual takes on George Miller’s post-apocalyptic masterpiece, The Road Warrior, and his titular character, Mad Max.
I won’t be comparing the two announced releases, instead leaving it up to you collectors to decide which one captures the likeness of actor Mel Gibson and his role better. I’m just pleased as punch that we’re getting any Mad Max figures from this particular film in 1:6 scale, much less getting options.
Both figures look to accurately represent Max, as well as his signature weapons. Premier does come with his dog, which is a nice touch, though I’m not sure I’d call it a deal-breaker.
Now all I need is JazzInc Dioramas to announce a Sixth Scale V8 Interceptor for either my Crazy Warrior or my Wasteland Gladiator to drive around in. Years ago I would have said that would be an impossibility, but these two Road Warrior figures have just proven that nothing is impossible.
